Escape home

The world is getting smaller, the possibilities bigger. Finding yourself in other countries, cultures and religions becomes easier. Putting down new roots takes a lot of strength and can lead to a lifelong search. I too flew, without roots, without a home. Found love and security in the world. A trip to India and the loss of comfort, warmth, closeness and the intense confrontation with mortality changed this. I fled home, into the arms of my family, wishing for the comfort of my beloved, the joys of my friends.

The pictures are a reflection of a time in which I lost so much and found so much. Today I long for the person I was back then, just me, Niklas.

The images have to rest for a while before their meaning becomes visible and can be published as a finished project.
